The Pillars of cyoga
THEME: cYoga classes always have a clearly defined theme. During the class, we move in one direction of mobility and we go deep into it. This way we prepare the body for more intense poses within that theme, the peak poses.
PEAK POSES: cYoga classes work towards peak poses. These are more challenging asanas within the theme of the class that require more preparation in order to reach further in a safe way.
SEQUENCE: the sequence is the essential component of the style. Through a carefully crafted sequence, the student is helped to prepare the body for the more intense asanas.
The benefits of cyoga
SHORT TERM: by following a careful sequence the body is prepared for the intense asana, reducing the opportunity for injury and giving the student the chance to reach their best during the class in a safe way. By following cYoga, the body is less sore the following day, and all the directions of movement are compensated through a regular practice
MEDIUM TERM: by working on peak poses, the student remains challenged and motivated, getting ideas from the workshops to incorporate into their regular practice, keeping the flame alive.
LONG TERM: by practicing in this manner, we protect the body, extending the years of yoga, increasing the longevity of our practice. Why should we not practice in our eighties or nineties?
